Frequently asked questions

You may be wondering…

Answers on Laadloon, chargers, MID meters, EREs, signing up, costs and payouts.

Yield and costs

What does a charger yield for me?

A typical home charger supplies about 4,000 kWh a year. At current published ERE prices that is an indication of a few hundred euros a year after our commission. Work through your own situation on [What does your charging yield?](/en/yield).

How much do I receive per kWh?

For kWh sold this year you currently receive about 12.5 cents per kWh after our commission. That is based on published ERE sale prices, not an estimate. See the current prices on [Our ERE sales](/ere-verkopen).

When am I paid out?

First we sell EREs, then Laadloon receives the proceeds, then your payout follows. The default is Optimal: we bundle EREs for a better sale, with payout in Q1 of the following year. Direct allocates your EREs earlier to an existing sale; the money follows when that sale is received. The sale date is not your payout date. You set your preference in the customer portal.

Does it cost me anything?

No. There is no subscription and no signup fee. We earn a commission on the sale of your EREs; you pay only when there is yield.

How do you earn your money?

Laadloon registers your validated kWh in the Register Energie voor Vervoer and receives Emission Reduction Units (EREs) for that. We sell those EREs on the market. The proceeds are paid out to you, after deducting our commission.

For 2026 the commission is 20% incl. VAT, the same for all customers. Only when there is yield.

Will your commission change in the future?

In 2027 we will review our offer and the commission again. We look at realised yields, the number of participants and what customers want. Our starting point is to keep the commission as low as possible. If scale or market conditions allow, we can lower it for everyone.

How quickly can I take part?

Sign up via the signup form. First check whether your charger can take part with the [charger check](/en/charger-check).

Can I take part?

Is my charger eligible?

To register electricity the NEa requires that consumption is measured accurately and verifiably. That can be done in two ways:

  • with a MID-certified meter on the charger, or
  • via an exclusive allocation point with its own EAN connection that only supplies the charger.

A “smart” charger is not required as long as these metering requirements are met. Mobile chargers (such as a granny charger) do not meet them.

Official rules: NEa — registering electricity for private customers.

Which charger brands are supported?

The brand is not decisive. What matters is that consumption is demonstrably measured according to the applicable requirements. We publish the MID status and known connection routes per model in the [charger check](/en/charger-check).

I drive a lease car. Can I take part too?

Yes. It is about the kWh charged through your home charging point, regardless of who owns the car or the charger. Guest charging on your charger counts as well.

Can my homeowners’ association take part too?

Yes. When an association has several chargers, the total registered volume counts. Because association situations differ a lot, email vragen@laadloon.nl or see the [association page](/vve).

Business and homeowners’ associations

For companies, associations, CPOs and leasing firms with large numbers of chargers: what is the solution?

Individual associations and SMEs with their own chargers belong with Laadloon. For white-label, large portfolios and professional integrations there is Compliance2Cash. Unsure about the route? Email vragen@laadloon.nl.

Can I get my own commission structure?

For the public consumer indication the commission is 20% incl. VAT, the same for all customers. For larger business volumes we look at a fitting offer. Contact us at vragen@laadloon.nl.

Can I also register EREs for 100% renewable electricity (solar panels)?

For home chargers the grid average applies, including with solar panels. The calculator does not automatically use 100% renewable. For business self-generation additional requirements can apply, such as Guarantees of Origin. Email us if that applies to you.

Do you work with a back office?

Yes. Existing back-office systems can connect via PlugChoice and OCPP, among others. Installers and platforms that want to refer customers belong in the [partner programme](/partners).

Chargers and connections

Do I have to open my charger for public services or dynamic charging?

No, that is unrelated to the regulation under which Laadloon works. You can consider opening your charger for guests: every kWh charged through your charger counts. That decision is entirely yours.

Do you offer an automatic connection with chargers?

For Easee and Zaptec an automatic data connection can be made. Via PlugChoice a charger with OCPP can be connected, even if you already have a back-office connection. You can also upload your charged kWh with evidence in the portal from time to time. Which route fits is shown in the [charger check](/en/charger-check).

I have a dynamic energy contract. What do I get then?

The type of energy contract does not matter. It is about the total kWh charged through the charger at your location. Guest charging counts as well.

The netting scheme disappears in 2027. What is the effect?

The end of the Dutch netting scheme has no effect on ERE registration. You continue to submit your charged kWh with evidence and benefit from the payout.

Signing up, switching and Laadloon

What is Laadloon.nl?

Laadloon makes sure you receive a payout for every kWh you charge at home or at work. It does not matter whether you pay the charging costs yourself, whether your employer reimburses them, or whether the charger is owned by you, your employer or your company. As long as you charge at your own connection (at home or as an SME), you can take part.

Laadloon is a trade name of Compliance2Cash B.V., Chamber of Commerce 98696211.

Why Laadloon and not another registration provider?

The difference is who stands behind the platform. Berend spent eight years auditing companies that registered HBEs — the predecessor of EREs — and saw where things went wrong. We have known the market, the buyers and the prices for almost ten years. Ludo combines 25 years of software development with 25 years in the certification sector. Your registration is therefore not only technically smooth, but also built to pass an audit.

Commission, net indication, chargers and payout are published in black and white on this site — the same figures as in the calculator and our sales.

Do you have experience with HBEs?

Yes, from the auditing side. HBEs (renewable fuel units) are the predecessor of EREs. Berend spent eight years auditing companies that registered HBEs; we did not register them ourselves. He saw how often the books were not in order, and that with too many deviations the NEa can reject a company's entire records.

That is why we check evidence strictly. We have also known the market, the buyers and the prices for almost ten years. More on [About us](/en/about#ervaring).

Is it safe and official?

Yes. We work within the legal framework of the Dutch fuel transition obligation. That requires fuel suppliers in the Netherlands to achieve a minimum share of renewable energy and to reduce CO₂ emissions from transport. Companies meet this by supplying renewable energy themselves or by buying EREs.

Laadloon is on the NEa list of registration service providers. That listing is not an approval, accreditation or guarantee by the NEa. We remain responsible for our processing.

Where can I find information about this regulation?

The relevant regulation is set out in the Renewable Energy Directive III (RED III) and the Dutch implementation of it.

Reliable sources:

Can I not just register my own kWh with the NEa?

No. For private customers and SMEs that is not practical. The NEa applies a minimum threshold and requirements for registrations, including independent verification. That is why the role of registration service provider was introduced. Laadloon takes on that administrative and verification burden on your behalf.

May Laadloon register on my behalf?

Yes. By granting a mandate you give Laadloon permission to register your charging on your behalf in the Register Energie voor Vervoer. That mandate is needed to prevent double registration and is used only for this purpose. For private customers the mandate covers at least one calendar year.

I have not received a confirmation email yet.

The confirmation email is sent automatically after signup. Do you not see it? Check for a typo in the email address and look in your spam or promotions folder. In doubt? Email vragen@laadloon.nl or use the WhatsApp button and we will look it up.

Tell someone else

Can I earn extra by referring others?

Yes. With your personal referral link you receive 5% of the gross ERE proceeds of everyone you refer, in the calendar year of signup and the following year. Share your link with people you know — not publicly. More on [Referral](/referral).

How do I get my referral link?

Log in to the customer portal, accept the referral terms and collect your personal link and QR code.

How many people can I refer?

There is no hard limit. We do ask you to treat your referral link carefully and not to put it on deal sites, forums or in advertisements.

Can I also refer companies?

Yes. An employer or company with its own chargers is welcome and can yield more through higher volume. Business partners belong in the [partner programme](/partners), not in the customer referral programme.

These answers come from the shared Laadloon knowledge base. Your accepted terms govern your mandate and payout.
